I know what it’s like to get up and speak. I know what it’s like giving a speech in front of 600+ people. I have always wanted to be a leader. I have wanted to express people scared to speak for themself. Then I joined Youth in Government. I didn’t think much of it, and thought “This will be easy” since Freshmen are separate from Sophomores - Seniors. Then it hit me, over 3,000 + people in one room, and a Senior speaking, not an adult. I had a speech to give since I was running for Lt. Governor, and, quite honestly, I was shaking. Then a burst of relief, I didn’t have to speak in front of everyone, infact, it was another room, just for Forum (Forum is freshmen.) However, it quickly filled with 600 people.

I only thought their would be 300 at most, excluding adults. I got on scared, shaking, and was ready to speak. I got onto stage, to see other kids onlooking me. I was nervous, but began to speak at a slow pace. I was speaking diligently until I messed up on a word. My heart was beating out of my chest, scared I was. I corrected myself, and quickly recovered, I continued to speak. I finished my speech and was relieved of my butterflies. In awe, I look upon the crowd to see them clapping, I never even thought they would of payed attention. Though I didn’t win, I still remember this moment, and now I can say for a fact, I know what it’s like to speak in front of 600+ people.
